ATTENTION ALL FIRST TIME BUYERS!
The Federal government of Canada's Home Buyers Plan allows qualified buyers to withdraw a maximum of $25,000 each from their RRSP's to purchase a home. If your spouse is also eligible you can each withdraw up to $25,000 towards the down payment, a total of $50,000. This amount can be borrowed for 90 days or more and then repaid to back to advantage of thousands of dollars in Tax Savings for your home purchase. (There is a time limit every year so if you are interested in finding out more, please contact me direct).
There is also a 15% credit that would be applied to a $5000 amount and would provide up to $750 in tax relief to reduce costs associated with first home purchases such as legal fees, land transfer taxes, etc.
